When everyone recommends Succotash for brunch, you have to try it! We went at around 9:30 on a Sunday morning and waited in line for about 10 minutes before ordering. I'm so glad that we came then because the line grew astronomically while we waited on our food/ate! The meal itself was yummy and their syrup was elite. I think the pricing is on-par with most other brunch places that I have been to, but definitely in the moderate range ($6 for iced latte, $3 for bottomless coffee). However, I think Succotash has the advantage of cute vibes and wonderful staff that makes the wait and pricing well worth it. Can't wait to come back!
TL;DR good vibes, good people, good food. Go early!!

Great breakfast spot with incredible bread and a very friendly staff. Had the corn beef hash and it was incredible

Yep! Yes! Absolutely!
I was at a conference at The Westin. I Yelped soul food breakfast, and Succotash popped up. .6 miles. I can walk. I set off on my uphill journey. This meal was worth every step.
It's a corner store type of place. Kitchy. You stand in line to order your food, then grab a table and they bring it to you. The line was out of the door, but by the time I ordered, tables were clear for seating.
I got the Swedish pancakes. They didn't warn me that they were using ligonberry jam, versus ligonberry preserve or simple syrup from actual ligonberries. Good flapjacks, though. The bacon and eggs were average.
They advertised strawberry Chai, but had been out for a day. I had the coconut cold brew. Delicious!
Service was great!

My wife and I just so happened to find this place that was mere steps from our Air BnB. Aside from the short walk, their eclectic menu won our stomachs over.
We arrived just as they opened and were greeted by a very friendly staff of servers and baristas. They have counter service so you may want to know what you want beforehand if you're indecisive like myself. My wife had the smoked salmon Benedict and I had the Burrito of love. We also ordered a lavender latte and creamy coconut latte. Both were great and I enjoy coconut a lot so it hit the spot.
Breakfast came out pretty quick and was definitely delicious. I wanted a bit more eggs in the burrito but it certainly was filling. The Salmon Benedict was quite good as well being on beer bread.
The overall feel of the place was rustic and quaint with a counter you could sit at and a very chill vibe. I could see myself spending some time sipping coffee and reading. It got rather packed after the first hour so plan to go early to avoid a wait.

Ambiance: Eclectic and interesting with unique art pieces adorning the walls. A classic breakfast diner feel with Kansas City charm.
Service: Upon arriving you can expect to wait in line for a short while before ordering your breakfast at the front cash register. You order food and drinks at the front register and then seat yourself. Seating is first come, first serve and when we visited there were more than enough tables to seat all guests with no wait. There is a large Gatorade jug for dispensing your own water near the main bar. Food arrived in around 15 minutes after ordering. Both the girl working the register and the man serving dishes seemed unhappy and were rather rude and short in their responses, hence the 4 instead of 5 stars.
Food and drink: All the breakfast staples from sweet dishes like buttermilk pancakes to savory dishes like the popular pork hash. The Little Richard is a unique drink- an entire Mexican Coke with 2 shots of espresso added. Delicious but not for the caffeine sensitive!

The food was incredible! The atmosphere was an eclectic arrangement of shabby sheik. I would highly recommend!!

Food is unique and incredible! My taste buds are blown away. Had the Vegan sink with cheese nom nom nom. Service was quick. Must have breakfast! Local vibes:)

Let's talk about it...
The food tasted amazing and came out lightning fast!
The set up of the restaurant isn't my fave. I honestly wish they'd switch to reservations. You have to purchase your food BEFORE claiming a table, which could take forever. The menu is also not posted up high so that multiple folks can be deciding what they want at the same time. It is right near the cashier taking the order.
The blowers made it a little uncomfortable to sit and talk with friends because it was super cold. I prefer to be cold but my peeps, not so much. I do like the oddly different decor. It makes them unique.
By the way, stop writing on the bathroom mirrors. You know who you are. Just kidding.

We don't live in KC, but we travel there for Women's Soccer games. This is by far my favorite breakfast restaurant SINCE Aggies on Houston, in Manhattan, NYC circa 1990. I live for the mushroom Benedict, thank you for that, and my spouse gets the salmon Benedict and a Cubano. We are still eating our 8 layer cake. Thank you for the joy.
"We eat here every time we visit KC", it's a destination that we can't ever skip!
